If we're interested in him I'd assume our scouting team and Rodgers rate him therefore I'm happy if we're in for him.

Rodgers seems to have a very clear idea of the positions and the attributes he's trying to strengthen in the side which is good to see, been quite some time since we've had a "plan" when recruiting players

Not too down about the window in all honesty mate. We are where we are as a club. We just can't attract the players just on our name anymore. That's down to years of under achievement and mis-management. We did some good business this window but it's a shame we're struggling for the real big signing.

If we can get things done with Anzhi quickly, maybe we'll get Willian. Longer we wait/negotiate the tougher it will be though

We've been seen as a soft touch by clubs for a long time. Look at Siqueira deal. Fee gone from £3m to £5.5m and now £12m. Clubs just think they can mug us off al the time. Walking away from deals will do us well in the long-term.

I think that is key one of the problems we have had for a while is that every season the manager has wanted to change the blueprint of how we approach the game and we have ended up with a half rebuilt, unbalanced squad. If nothing else I would expect that by the end of this season we will have a complete squad selected to play the game a particular way.

Agreed, that for me is why he needs at least this season to continue what he's been doing. The players we've brought in so far I've been fairly impressed with and are clearly recruited with a footballing blueprint in mind.

Willian might work out he might not but at least it's sticking to one ethos rather than trying fit squares into round holes

Get that big signing plus keep Suarez will give us genuine hope for top 4. And depending on how well we start it could put us in a good position to add a catalyst or 2 in January.
