Celtic are currently weighing up whether to play some of their Champions League qualification games in Ireland next season.
The Commonwealth Games, that run from July 23 to August 3, will clash at least one qualifying round for the Champions League next season meaning that the Bhoys will have to play a home tie next season away from Parkhead if they win the SPL this year as expected.
Celtic CEO Peter Lawwell believes Murrayfield in Edinburgh would be the most likely alternative to Parkhead but they are looking at stadiums in Ireland and England also.
“It looks like the Q2 qualifier will definitely be away from Celtic Park and possibly Q3 whether the first leg is home or away,” Lawwell told STV.
“At the moment we’ve got two or three options that we are looking at internally. The most likely is Murrayfield because it is the right size, the right quality for Champions League and it’s nearer Glasgow.
“The Aviva, Croke Park or, maybe, down south, a northern Premier League club.
“There would be a big support in Dublin.
“The stadium was full there when we played Liverpool in the summer, so that would be great and there is a precedent in that we played at Old Trafford against Rapid Vienna.
“We’re developing a few options and then we’ll take it to UEFA and see what they think. I don’t really know until we see the possibilities."
That rug really tied the room together.

I suppose it would be classed as a political banner - undoubtedly banned by UEFA rules. Allowing it to stay up would probably open Citeh up to sanctions.Originally posted by Reece View Post
Plus it gives them the moral highground to show they act against things like that while CSKA play dumb over racismFootball without Origi is nothing

PENALTY TO UNITED - Real Sociedad 0-0 Man Utd
Ashley Young has a reputation for, ahem, going to ground easily and he has just enhanced that reputation. He goes over with minimal, absolutely minimal contact and to the disbelief of most inside the stadium referee Nicola Rizzoli gives the spot-kick.
