He gets sent off about 5 times a season and is at fault for so many goals. I watch Spanish football every week. Sure he fell over the ball last week and cost Madrid the game. He's a defensive liability and not a ****ing chance in hell of him getting the balon dor. Do like his commitment though.

Yet he's been picked as first choice for over a decade (including Sevilla) by multiple different managers at club level and is always selected for Spanish squads. So, if Capello, Caro, Luxemburgo, Aragones, Del Bosque, Ramos, Pellegrini, Mourinho, Schuster and Joaquin Caparros all can't see what you see, I'm not sure what you're seeing. He's a leader, physically very good and great in the air. Most defenders have howlers (imagine if someone made a compilation of Carra's **** ups - it's be a good 20 minutes or so). He plays almost every minute, stands up in the big moments and has won almost every competition.

I know he is the golden boy at Real no doubts, they love him. Of course every defender makes mistakes. But sure look, for a club who spend whatever they want every year on whoever the want.. unlimited funds and rob every top player in world football & they thump teams 5 nil in 90% of games.... they should have been winning everything,every season. He is a part of the reason why they are always liable to conceding. He's just lucky they have a guy who scores 50 or 60 goals a season that can get them out of trouble.

He has done so well with Spain as they have a generation of players that are probably the best international side every assembled. They have about 75-80% possession in every game, so it's almost impossible for teams to attack against team if they can't get the ball.... never mind causing the Spanish defence problems.

He has won alot of honours no doubts & is a regular for Madrid & Spain,, two power houses. But sure several manages have come into Chelsea and they've all picked John Obi Mikel! And look at John O Shea's club honours.. and he's a donkey.

Ramos has been sent off 19 times in his career & each season is peppered with mistakes but he is committed & yup he's won everything you are spot on. I don't rate him defensively and clearly i'm not alone, opinions have always been split on him. Each to their own i suppose

Played 120 minutes so he can't not have been. Absolutely one of the best players I've ever seen,but Messi is better IMO,just not this season.

To be fair he hardly moved the whole game & his ego is so big he was always going to start. Two incredible players that have been head and shoulders above everyone else for years.
