He is a Liverpool fan. He's even taken the piss out of Utd on twitter. There were rumours that he was shown round Melwood this summer too but was advised to play another year and then we'll probably make a move for him. I would have signed him instead of Ilori. Just didn't see the point of signing Ilori and Sakho.
This kid is the real deal. Been watched by Barcelona too. Fits Brendan's philosophy too.
Although the **** he got off our fans over following the EDL has probably put him off joining

hopefully, if we keep going along nicely, and united keep struggling - then when we go for him it'll be a no brainer...
in our favour is
a) we seem to be an up and coming side on the rise, united do look 'slightly' in decline
b) rodgers has been excellent at bringing youngsters through here - Moyes, despite some reports, is **** at it. My mate works at everton and they used to laugh at moyes for it - apparently other than Rooney who would have made it anywhere anyhow, he didn't develop anyone
c) argubly he'll play more here, fit our system and has Steven Gerrard to learn fromi own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

but is he any better than Jonjo Shelvey???
In reality, if we wanted to be pro-active and forward thinking, then a pre-deal for him would be the dogs bollocks - and if we sent one or two players like Texaco, Ibe, Rossiter and Yesil to Derby County on loan, then it might work out in everyones favour - they'd have a couple of very good players, our mofos would get some valuable playing experience, and we could all be happy campers..... there are worse managers than McLaren to learn off and his method of football wouldnt be the worst in terms of playwer development with time on the balll.....

reckon he is well better than shelvey now, and this lad will be the real deal in a couple of years. almost first team ready.Originally posted by frank the tank View Postbut is he any better than Jonjo Shelvey???

agree about the pre-deal idea, and sending out loan players as a sweetener, provided they get a kick.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

We should have signed him and loaned him back to Derby for a year. I think next season he would have broken into our central midfield. He's hugely talented
