will hughes is worth 5m more than we paid for coutinho. coutinho has turned out to be a good buy. if the selling club and buying club knew his full current value then he would have cost substantially more than we paid.Originally posted by kev776 View PostIs he worth 5m more than Couthino?
when people talk about will hughes's 'potential' i think he isnt like when we brought in shelvey or others, just a good prospect but still yet to go on and be a decent player. i know its 'only derby' but he runs that ship. he is already a decent player, a footballing brain beyond his years.
he is currently a very decent young player, his potential could go on to be world class.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think with where we are right now, we need to invest in the starting eleven more than up and coming youngsters.
The money is there, we know that - Willian, Mkhitaryan, Costa etc
I'd rather we spend that on a player who will instantly improve us. I'll admit I've seen very little of this lad, and if we missed out yeah we could look back and regret not buying him, but here and now we need something more with our cash.

i reckon this lad is better not than henderson is, so will improve us now. he will almost certainly get better and may well become as important to us as gerrard has been. this is a fact.Originally posted by Mike View PostI think with where we are right now, we need to invest in the starting eleven more than up and coming youngsters.

its probably up to £12m with something like 5-7 upfront.
hes a talent alright but it takes a special type of player to be able to play in a top side like ours from an early age. Mos is right, weve already spunked £20m on alberto, illori and aspas and arguably that could have gotten another top class player who would have helped the first team more immediately.
its hard to find that right balance between now and the future though especially when funds are tighter.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Looking at Will Hughes is smart, we're going to need to replace the likes of Gerrard in the not to distant future and having someone like him on the books whilst he's still relatively affordable makes perfect sense IMO.
As others have mentioned nobody bats an eye now at the fees paid for the likes of Bale and Walcott when they moved to Arsenal and Spurs respectively, and this lad looks like he could be very, very good.
Now we do still need to bring players in to try and help us cement a top four place this season but we also have to consider the long term future as well which I think is being done really well at the moment.

I think you're all forgetting that it is difficult to find a player, then even harder to encourage him to join whilst we are not in the Champs league, its akin to asking a top, top player to take a gambol on us.
Will is a player that is for the future, but he is available now. What do we do let him go to the Arse or the Mancs when he can come here. I know most of you want a Micky Ryan type signing, but would you let Will go by in the hope one joins?

Precisely, obviously we want that special player to come straight into the first team but it's not that easy and in January who knows who might be available anyway.
I'd be pretty happy to see him and say Pastore come in this window, if we manage something like that it would again be a good Jan transfer window.

Was watching clips of this blonde haired prick before. He looks quality we really need to go for him, his touch and passing is impressive.
He has the Dim Mak (Deft Touch).Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers dismisses Will Hughes link
Manager Brendan Rodgers has quashed speculation linking Derby midfielder Will Hughes with a move to Liverpool.
The Reds have been heavily linked with the 18-year-old midfielder, who has hugely impressed Rodgers.
"I read we had put in a bid or something had been agreed but there has been nothing," said the Liverpool boss.
"I think he is a wonderful young talent who just needs to play football and for me he is probably at the best place he could be."
He added: "I don't normally comment on speculation but [I will] because I have the interest of the player at heart."
Hughes, who came through the ranks at Derby, scored in England U21's 9-0 win over San Marino in midweek.
"This is a very talented young player that either a person or a group of people aren't doing him any favours whatsoever by constantly linking him with coming to Liverpool," said Rodgers.
"This is a young kid learning the game - he is at an outstanding club at Derby, he has a great manager there and we sent one of our young players [Andre Wisdom] there to develop and learn."
Hughes, who joined the Rams from local rivals Nottingham Forest at the age of 12, made his first team debut in November 2011 as a 16-year-old.
So far this season he has made 18 appearances for the Championship side, scoring four goals.
Interesting comments by Rodgers. I think it's clear as day if we do buy him he'll stay at Derby for the rest of the season. I'm not convinced that we'll go for him in Jan though.
