Mate he's playing for a team in the league below.Originally posted by smu1977 View PostLooked average against Chelsea.
Him and Wisdom looked after Willian for most of the game, he had some good touches and showed some great strength in places.
Lack of pace would be a wee worry, reminds me of Jonjo when he first signed. The times they are a changin'.

if we do buy him i reckon he will be loaned back to derby for the following year. let him build up and develop there. he will be decent, but we need better players for the now.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He's 18. Playing his first game against one of the most expensively assembled teams in the world. He did ok, certainly wasn't outstanding but he wasn't overawed either. He's not ready to be a first team regular at Anfield quite yet, I'm not sure any 18yr old in world football truly would be in his position, but he really could be one day in the not-so-distant future imo.Originally posted by smu1977 View Post****, I didn't realise Derby were in the league below.....
we are not though, and I didn't think he looked good enough. Only one game but I thought he looked a bit lazy.
And no way is he a lazy player, if you watch his usual performances in the Championship you'll see he isn't by a long shot.Last edited by MrMichael; 06-01-14, 08:44 AM.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

...only time will tell. He's certainly not ready for it yet, but he could develop into a very talented centre mid with the right club, coaching and management. Nothing is ever guaranteed at his age though... look at Francis Jeffers...Originally posted by Mattshark View PostThe big question is, can he play at the top end of the premier league, which is what we need.

Whenever I've seem him he looks like he's got something about him and could develop into a very good player but until he plays regular games at the top level it's impossible to tell.
Myself, I think he will turn into a good PL player but i think he could do with staying at Derby for this season and probably the next learning his trade before making a move especially if Derby make it to the PL next season.

it would be great if we signed him and loaned him back for the remainder of this year, and if derby get promoted then let him stay there/move him to another prem team for 14/15 to broaden his experience and get him playing regular games against prem teams.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
