Agreed, maybe lazy is the wrong word. But if you watch his movement he didn't appear to bust a gut to get back any time Chelsea were on the attack....IMO. Granted he is young, but I would have thought he would be keen to impress. Still, unlike MrMicheal I haven't been following his career that closely.

Myself, I think he will turn into a good PL player but i think he could do with staying at Derby for this season and probably the next learning his trade before making a move especially if Derby make it to the PL next season.
As others have pointed out the game did pass by him. But he showed good touch, good control, and he does have an ability to ghost into positions. He is definitely a unique prospect - not a typical English midfielder.
I dont think he is a Steven Gerrard replacement. The player he reminds of most is Aquilani
( or what he was supposed to be). I think he can develop into a mobile midfielder with intelligent passing, little bit of dribbling ability, and can move forward in the final third and create goal scoring opportunities.
I have a feeling that his game is more suited to a top club and will shine more in Brendan's passing game than the championship.

If we were linked with Ross Barkley based on his performances for either Leeds or Sheff Wed when he was on loan there, then there would have been a lot of people on here saying that he'd not be good enough for us.....
If we could organise it such that we loan him for 18 months to Derby, then it could be a great deal for everyone involved - especially if he was to come to Melwood maybe once or twice a week for a session with LFC - so that it would help integrate him when he does finally come to us, our docs could assess and make sure he's not going to be burnt out and it should also act as a carrot for the lad - so that he knows he still has a lot of work to do to make his name at LFC....
I kinda hope that Derby don't get promoted this year, because they'd be able to reject offers on WH if they do. If they stay in the Chumpionship, then i'd be tempted to loan them a young player or two (Jordan Ibe, Rossiter or Ilori) to get used to playing with Hughes...
On a side note, this summer having Wisdom, Borini and Suso come back into the squad will be great. All 3 have developed / improved massively and will hopefully come back hungry to maintain that. Must be the first time we have ever loaned a player effectively...

From the mirror in December.......
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has agreed a ‘first option’ deal for Derby County’s brilliant youngster Will Hughes.
Rodgers will get the chance to buy the midfielder - seen as Steven Gerrard’s long-term successor - as part of a pact with the Rams.
The Kop chief has agreed to let England under-21 defender Andre Wisdom go to Derby on loan for the rest of the season.
Steve McClaren will be able to play Wisdom against Chelsea in the FA Cup this weekend after the new terms were struck.
Wisdom had been on a youth loan, with the option of going back to Anfield if Rodgers needed him. But now he has gone to Pride Park on a new basis.
And as part of the transfer Liverpool have an agreement with Derby that they get the option to buy Hughes when the Rams decide to sell.

Andre Wisdom: Staying with Derby for now
Hughes has been on Rodgers’s radar for months but the Liverpool boss held back from buying him because he would not go into his side yet.
But the Anfield chief is a huge fan of Hughes and wants to be sure he does not lose him elsewhere if he is sold in the summer.
The deal suits all parties as Liverpool now have a major say in Hughes’s next move and Derby have their young talent safely tied up for the promotion push.
Hughes is also settled and playing well for McClaren’s side - with the Rams not looking to sell him at the moment.
And giving Wisdom an extended run in the Championship has worked out well for the player too.
