McCarthy's a good player. £13m is a hell of a lot, but if they got double that for Fellani they've definitely come out of that one the better.

Every bandwagon jumper who put Ross Barkley in their FF team better start looking for other cheap options

    The united stuff is funny,

Have Everton defo signed Barry/mcarthy/Lukaku? I'd be quite annoyed with that cause I was hoping to laugh at them as well

@frankieboyle: Genuinely thought Ozil would sign for Man U because he'd want to go somewhere that he wasn't the weirdest looking cunt

Absolutely. Quality player (overpaying though) but their issue has not really been in the creative department. They're still in trouble if Giroud gets injured and have major issues at the back and in goal. Seems to me like they've just made a big signing to appease their fans but really lack an overall squad improvement plan.

Newcastle will go down if Ben Arfa can't stay fit, having watched their first few games I'm quite sure of it. Their attack is pathetically static and uninventive, and their defence is crap. Race to the bottom between them, Fulham and West Brom, I'd give Cardiff and Hull even chances of staying up instead of any of those right now.

I guess Chelsea would not have given Lukaku to us.

Still think Man Utd will confirm Fellaini tonight

Looks like United genuinely did try to get Coentrao on loan from Real Madrid but the fax came through too late and deal will not happen...

Kenwright must have been pissing himself screwing over Moyes and co with that deal.

£27.5m for a midfielder who isn't actually world class at anything is INSANE!

I hate deadline day and I hate the way it's been given the full sky sorts treatment, it's made a mockery of the game imo and contribute big time to some of the financial issues in football

However some sick twisted part of me also can't get enough of it, I spend each one glued to the tele watching story after story repeat, clicking refresh on est and twitter etc etc

Marca now saying that Coentrao is staying in Madrid, not joining Man Utd. Sky, though, think he's arrived on a season's loan

Could have got him for £23.5m 4 weeks ago
