      ****ing outrageous to suggest he does not work hard anymore in a Liverpool shirt. So he is not the 2005 model, but FFS he plays a different role in the team. He puts in the shift for club and country as far as I can see, no discussion at all IMO.

        I disagree. He's obviously very proud of playing for England and has never shied away from that fact; however, I don't think you can question Gerrard's loyalty to Liverpool or where his priorities lie.

        Gerrard had a decent game for England in a traditionally rigid Hodgson formation. He had fullbacks tucked in, he had Lampard as his water carrier and he was allowed to roam once Carrick came on. He pretty much had to patrol the centre of the park.

        The set-up at Liverpool is much different; he has to cover both flanks and as such, has to cover a much larger area. He doesn't have Coutinho as his creative outlet and I don't think it's a coincidence that his form has dropped alongside Countinho's injury.

        Yes, of course we can question Gerrard's Liverpool performances (unless your name is CtrlAltDelete and then your opinion on Gerrard is void), but I don't think you can say he's playing better for England than he does for Liverpool because he doesn't give 100% for the latter.

                            The full game is on Youtube but I can't be bothered to watch it all to see Is there any specific you've heard as I might have a nosey at that decisions.

                            Although Slovakia, from what I did see, should have had a player booked in the first 30 seconds.

                                I went with the last post in the thread which happened to be yours, Arn.

                                A few people questioned Gerrard's performance for England and why it didn't mirror his form for Liverpool; you said 'he could work his socks off for us in every game but he isn't interested doing it'. People may have been alluding to the tactical set-up, you went with Gerrard not trying his best for Liverpool and putting England first.
