It's sickening when you think about it. They're all too quick to complain about the chanting from foreign and even club sides. Terry is a disgusting vile piece of filth who should be hung out to dry. How so many England players can stand for this is incredible. Especially the black players, Richards, Brown, Turdinand, Bent, ****e-Phillips.

I get the impression we are far more keen to accept this because it is a Chelsea player in question. I really can't see why all the players involved would want to cover it up yet withdraw from the squad - it would make no sense. My guess would be that the papers saw the rumours online about Terry and decided to see if they could make a story up without getting into any legal trouble."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I don't agree with that. I think it's fair to suggest that football has its fair share of open secrets - known by people in the game but not to be shared with people outside it. That's one reason why journos don't tell us things that frankly they should - they're kept "onside" by getting access to players, managers, etc. and they keep their side of the bargain by not spilling the beans on things.Originally posted by RicheyThats what I thought. And why would the Spurs players not say anything? Its not like they have anything to lose
In that sort of situation there is always pressure on people to close ranks so the problem can be "sorted out" discreetly. Quite what that sorting out might involve is difficult to say - I imagine a private apology would probably do the trick.
It is of course quite disguting if true and Terry should be stripped of the captaincy immediately. Trouble is, what would the repercussions for McLaren and the FA be? Would Chelsea players withdraw in protest against the public humiliation of their captain? Would Chelsea work to undermine the FA and the international game (which all the big clubs would like to do anyway)? What would it do for McLaren's stock if his judgment in appointing Terry as captain were to be seen to be as an error so soon after his appointment?
It won't do the Spurs players' careers any harm if they go along with the FA/McLaren dealing with it "in-house"..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I've seen the incident and it looks like a lot to do about nothing.Originally posted by dwwI get the impression we are far more keen to accept this because it is a Chelsea player in question. My Chelsea neighbour let slip the other day that Terry had a racist history.
When I said that someone had mentioned this remark during the match etc he said "Oh there's no need to drag up his past".
I know I often moan about this fella but he's ok really. He's 60 or 61 and he's from London and he's been going the game since he was a child (with the odd blip when they were ****) and he knows a helluva lot of people down there(including who's who in the hooligan stakes), he certainly would know if Terry had a history of this sort of thing.
I didn't press him for any more info but I might get Lasty to have a pint with him later LOLI live with Steptoe.

What happened to "kick racism out of football".
If this is true, then like Big Ron Atkinson (God bless his racist soul), Terry should be kicked out of football.
Zero tollerance for me and I'd say the same if it was an LFC player

It's too big a story to 'trade' for a Chelsea exclusive or two.Originally posted by rico1304I've had it on good authority that Chelsea are handing out cash like its Xmas to keep this out of the press.

If it's true, it will get out.
