Balls are allocated like thisOriginally posted by Muddled View PostHow does ball allocation for the draw work these days?
I'm sure it just used to be alphabetical order?
Round 1 all league 1 and 2 teams placed alphabetically regardless of the league they are in. So 1-48. The 32 qualifying teams(or replayed teams) are then placed according to the number of the tie they were in the previous round. You were tie 15 so become 48+15 so 63.
In round 2 the winning team is allocated the number of the tie they were drawn in round 1(not alphabetically but as come out) So if you beat Hinckley and then Tamworth you will be ball 19 in round 2.
For round 3 the Premier and Championship sides are placed alphabetically (once more regardless of the league they're in) so 1-44. Round 2 has 20 games so 20 winners to make up the 64 teams for round 3. Each winning team is then allocated the number of the tie they were in round 2 so if Darlo were winners in round 2 and had been tie 5 made they would get ball 49 in round 3. if were number 20 tie drawn they would be number 64. So its tie number +44 for your number then.
From round 4 onwards the winning team is allocated the number of the tie they were made from the previous round. That rug really tied the room together.

Think they deserve it. They've been trying for so long to get a proper home of their own after that cretin screwed them over. Another in the long line of glorious owners the FA thought were suitable to own a community asset.Originally posted by McDermotX View PostNice little setup Brighton have there for themselves.
