I might be wrong but it looks like this got into the public domain because it came up in the high court where Barton was ordered to pay Eni Aluko over 300k in damages for spouting about her on twitter. Her lawyer mentioned it as a reason why Barton wasn't present in the court.
Bit of a crap day for him
I worked with a guy from Huyton who knew Barton through some of his golf friends. The guy is ****in unhinged. Apparently there was a golf trip to Ireland where joey got abuse / banter from a few lads in a bar and he didnt bite / took it fine. Six hours and a lash of drinks later, joey had hulked up and was actively going looking for the same group to fill them in.

He has been refused bail for the attack and will be in front of a judge today.
The incident, Barton and another man, Gary O'Grady, seriously injuring a third party who has been named as a Kevin Lynch, took place in Merseyside near the Huyton and Prescot Golf Club and not in Ireland.
The police release says that Lynch may lose the use of one of his eyes after the attack.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
