      Gordon Taylor just used Hillsborough as a comparison in the Evans case for police injustices involving footballers. Astonishing comparison

      ****ing hell. This fella is one of the biggest morons ever associated with sport in this country. He's scum.

        Would be interesting to read the context rather than scandal in 140 characters

          One of them was supposedly threatened with rape, which is a ridiculous piece of irony.

            If that is true we need to find an uninhabited island in the South Pacific that we can transport them to. Another country that can beat us at cricket in 100 years time is a risk worth taking to free the country from such idiots.

                  ITV have confirmed that Andy Townsend’s contract will not be renewed when it expires in the summer.

                  The former Republic of Ireland, Aston Villa and Chelsea midfielder has been part of the channel’s coverage for more than a decade and is a regular co-commentator alongside Clive Tyldesley for England matches and Champions League games.

                  However, with Townsend’s current deal set to expire in the summer, a spokesman for ITV has confirmed it will not be renewed, with presenter Matt Smith also not being retained.

                    Gordon Taylor has risked further controversy by appearing to compare the Ched Evans case with the Hillsborough tragedy.
                    After the convicted rapist's move to Oldham collapsed, the Professional Footballers' Association chief executive was asked about Evans's insistence that he is innocent.
                    "He wouldn't have been the first person to be found guilty, maintained their innocence and been proved right. We know what happened with Hillsborough," Taylor told BBC Sport.

                      Just seen that. Absolutely outrageous, but the truth is I am not even that surprised that he made these comments. He is not fit for the role and simply has to resign now.

                          more than that, thought the LFC fans were to blame for Hillsborough, by his suggestion that;

                            For someone so prominent in the game it would probably be possible to find past interview of comments as to what he thought in years past but from that comment alone I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt on him apportioning blame to Liverpool fans.

                            Although his comments that Liverpool fans were found guilty is actually wrong in comparison to Ched. He was tried and convicted, rightly or wrongly, in a court of law.

                            Liverpool Fans were said by the Taylor Report NOT to be to blame and were not tried in a court of law. They were blamed by the media, police, and other fans. But they were not 'found guilty'.

                              Really stupid comment and comparison to make, imo.

                              Such a poor error of judgment. He should be sack.

                                No, he's saying the complete opposite. That people initially felt Liverpool fans were to blame but were shown to be wrong. It was a stupid and crass comparison to make, and an apology was definitely owed, but let's not make it out to be something it isn't.
