Only 8 days left to go in the window, the likes of Chelsea, Utd, Spurs and City haven't really made any moves yet.

Particularly with Pochettinos comments from the end of last season. I cant see how a team like Spurs who are in a very similar position to us can improve without strengthening.Originally posted by Alex View PostId love it if Spurs were sat on their arse watching everyone else get stronger.
I guess it must be hard to justify expenditure when you have a stadium build that is heading north of £850m on a budget of £450m.Modifying post.

My completely deluded Spurs mate thinks they can't really strengthen the first XI anywhereOriginally posted by Alex View PostId love it if Spurs were sat on their arse watching everyone else get stronger.
and reckons they don't really need to do any business

Injuries to the first team will make him reconsider. Generally the team with fewest injuries will win stuff. City didn't have many last year but have a ridiculous squad to cope anyway. Leicester barely had any when they did, etc.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostMy completely deluded Spurs mate thinks they can't really strengthen the first XI anywhere

The drop off in quality at spurs from first to fringe is as high as ours was last year.

Although in fairness they are one of those teams that have good players across the pitch with no really glaring weaknesses. There's obviously room to improve but there are no obvious areas where they could easily make a huge leap forward unless they bagged someone really stellar.Like blood on iron

They also have a strange issue where they obviously need more depth over a season but as they rigidly stick to the same starting XI it isn't an attractive destination for players who might need to grow into the first team. In recent seasons they have tried repeatedly to add a pacy wide attacker only for them to be sold a season later having played about four games."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

They desperately need cover for Kane (even if they do have a decent record without him). Although admittedly it's a hard position to fill as any potential signing will know they won't play much (just like us with Bobby).
Likewise with Eriksen, they'd struggle of he picked up a bad injury.
I've never been a massive fan of Dier and as good as Dembele is, his ability to stay fit is a concern.
Toby is also on the way out, so they could maybe do with another CB too.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
