Simon Jordan and Richard keys, likely to the surprise of nobody, have come in to defend the Ashley. Seems an obvious attempt to push the club in to distress to pick them up for a bargain.

There is zero commercial sense buying a sports stadium and evicting the only tenants when you are not going to be able to replace them - unless you intend to knock it down and develop housing which almost certainly wouldn't get past planning.

The current license they have was not upheld. The new one would be under revised, less favourable terms.

Not been myself but one of my staff went to a poker tournament there a couple of months ago. Apparently there’s a huge casino under the stadium. Sod finding new owners, why don’t we do that? Only Trump has ever lost money running a casino. We’d pay for Bellingham in no time.

As money spinning as they are and I'm sure the suggestion was rather tongue in cheek it would be a massive PR own goal. Bad enough with saturation gambling ads or teams sponsored but if we opened a casino at the ground in a working class neighbourhood it would be fully deserved public shaming.

Very much tongue in cheek. I’m curious though as the stadium isn’t that new so wondering what was there before. I think it was built before casinos became much of a thing in the UK so maybe an underground car park?
