Draxler is so very average, we already have better sp a OMFG signing he certainly is not. Reus on the other hand is something else.

Draxler is far from average. He's not a goal machine but he is a very very good footballer and is only a year older than Sterling.

If he played for us we would all be nursing future Barca midfielder semi's.

Spurs could be a real force next year. They would have been last year but they stubbornly refused to sign a midfielder

Good. We got bummed for Lallana and Loveren, so at least they overpaid too

                Oh Rafa

Manchester United hold talks with Napoli over Marouane Fellaini exit
                • Belgian weighs up options after failing to shine at Old Trafford
                • Louis van Gaal to assess situation over Shinji Kagawa

Marouane Fellaini’s nightmare time at Manchester United could be about to end as the club are in negotiations with Napoli regarding the midfielder, whose £27.5m fee last summer made him the fourth most expensive player in the club’s history.

Fellaini is thought to be minded to make the move to Italy, although he is still weighing up the decision. Whether it would be a permanent transfer or loan deal is also in the balance.

United would prefer to sell the player and are bracing themselves to take a sizeable loss on him, with any fee in the region of £15m understood to be considered good business. Napoli, though, want to take Fellaini on a temporary basis as the Italian club have straitened finances and are trying to remove players from their books.

With Fellaini on about £100,000 a week, his terms may also be an issue if it were to be a permanent transfer. Despite the Belgian’s disappointing form since joining United – he failed to score a goal for the club and was unlucky with injuries – Rafael Benítez, the Napoli head coach, believes the player’s physicality could be utilised in Serie A.

The move away from United is being presented to Fellaini as a chance to rebuild his career and an opportunity to play Champions League football as United are not in the competition next season.

Fellaini’s disgruntlement at his troubled year at United was evident at the World Cup when he was asked about his Old Trafford experience. “I have played eight years as a professional, so I don’t need to prove [anything],” he said. “I always believed in myself.”

Shinji Kagawa’s future at United is also in doubt as Louis van Gaal continues to assess his squad during the tour of the United States. Kagawa’s former club, Borussia Dortmund, retain an interest in him and are seen as potential suitors.

Robin van Persie is due to restart training at Carrington on Monday after his post-World Cup break and will not be joining United in the US.

Has any team ever been torn apart in the way Southampton's has this summer? Southampton fans must be distraught about it.

This is their current squad at present. If they lose Rodriguez and Schneiderlin they'll barely be able to put a team out.

Got the feeling of asset stripping to me, how much have they made already ? £90M+ so far?

Osvaldo has been told he'll never play for them again hasn't he? So that's another one off.

The ownership change and the removal of Cortese seems to have had a significant impact on their ambition. There was talk that they had big debts owed this summer (~£30m in transfer fees due to be paid for example) so I wonder whether it is asset stripping or necessary financial re-adjustment as they had a big debt from their time in the wilderness. Either way it can't be enjoyable to be a Saints fan this summer.

                                That's what I remember too. He's a bellend.

So with J-Rod out they have 18 year old Sam Gallagher up front with 1 goal in 18 games to his career. Nice.

They signed Tadic didn't they so I guess he'll have to play up front too unless they sign a striker soon?
