I just had a really horrible thought and I need someone to put my mind at peace. If by some pact with the devil the Mancs manage to win the Champions League would that mean the 4th placed team will not play in the Champions League?

My worry is that they will feel that they can't afford not to sack him in the summer.

Even if they do he signed a six year contract - that will need to be paid off - and I would imagine he is on decent wedge. Add that to employing a new guy (possible compensation to the club he leaves) , lack of CL money and it weakens their ability to strengthen their team - which basically needs a new defence and midfield. And another attacker of quality would be useful.
