Do you mean like getting to the final of the champions league? Because pretty much all of our league winners recently have been in the champions league.

I'm pretty sure every team that's won the PL has been involved in Europe & no team has finished 7th and then won the league.

Since it's inception we've only had Man Utd, City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Blackburn win the league, it's ****ing hard to win hence such a small number of teams have done so.

Essentially to win the league you need to be in Europe as has been proved the past 20 + years

Getting their excuses in early like Mourinho and Pellegrini. Wenger said it today too. They all have squads much higher in quality than ours hence why it shouldn't be any disadvantage to be playing extra games.

One look at our bench yesterday tells you all you need to know about our squad quality in comparison. Our first 11 matches anyone's, we don't have much else after that though.

Since about 2000 when we've had 4 CL spots almost every team that has won the league has been in the CL at some point that season, how far they got is a different matter, but in the last 10 years I would imagine most winners have at least made the knockout stage so been involved after christmas.

Before about 2000 when there were less CL league places it may have been different.
