How come the order of matches are jumbled up, Italy playing today, Brazil playing twice before first round is over etc?

Are they purposely putting the **** matches on late at night, or are they factoring in time zones for different countries and trying to show at a reasonable time for home nations?

I was at Madrid airport last night waiting for my delayed flight and I watched the sports news on the telly. Sadly it was in Spanish with Spanish subtitles so I couldn't understand it. But, Dani Alves appeared to be in a press conference calling Alan Shearer an idiot. Now obviously he was right, but does anyone know the background to this outburst?
