    TOTY in Europe

From all of Europe, what is the team of the year for you? Select a realistic formation and get cracking

    My team:

    Suarez - Diego Costa****

Cuadrado - Yaya Toure - Vidal*** - Ronaldo

Filipe Luís - Godin - Chiellini* - Zabaleta**

    Curtois

Manager: Diego Simeone for against the odds being Spanish champions, in the domestic final and CL final

    * Close competition with Benatia from Roma that have been outstanding as well.

** Hard position this year: Lahm if he played there more would have taken it. Ivanovic have been good, but not quite good enough.

*** For a bit of balance Could have been a Gerrard/Pirlo, but lack of European compeition for the first and not as important as earlier for the later. Lahm another option, highest pass completion of any player in Europe this season.

**** Though one this year. Messi could have gotten it, but just a bit from his usual, and Costa have been more important. Ibrahimovic would be another candidate, been hugely impressive again again.

Also strange I don't have any Bayern players in the team looking at it, a lot of great individuals but just not quite there individually for me this year. Perhaps Schweinsteiger in central or maybe Alaba instead of Filipe? The later could be argued, just been hugely impressed with him from Atletico this year.

Thanks!, interesting to see the choices made. A lot of candidates to take from. For example I'm slightly interested in your Alves choice? You really think he's been that good this year?

I struggled to think of someone better than him and his stats have been very good again, although was tempted with Zabaletta who I think is a great RB

I think the fact the style of football changed for Barca gives people the impression they were poor, they weren't at their usual levels but were still pretty decent

They were indeed, just highlighted by the fact Messi scoring 28 in 29 and 10 assists aren't good enough . In fact I think RB was by far the hardest position to point at a player being above the rest, or even impressing a lot.

A strange year when there is a huge amount of lb talent and nothing at the rb.

                  I know weird hey.

So many players that could or should have got in i.e. Messi for me he's still the best footballer on the planet.
