I think you CANNOT make any transfers in the Group stages, then when teams get eliminated, you get unlimited transfers for each round. Also, I think day by day, in Group stages you can add players in and out, change formation, etc, for the forthcoming games (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3)

Also, let's stay you start a player and they do nothing, you can swap in unplayed players for that round and roll the dice that they will surpass the other player, etc. Swapping players is a good reason to have more than a great 11...

Ok, so this game doesn't understand its own rules.

The rules page says

You can change every player in your line-up that has not already played during the current round for any other relevant player in your squad that hasn’t already played

Which indicates you can only switch players who haven't played.

However, since this morning this has now been added

For example if you have placed NEYMAR on Your Pitch and he did not perform as well as you expected after the first match you can replace him with a forward from your bench that hasn’t already played during the current round. You would lose the points from NEYMAR for the round but the new player might get more points.

Which suggests you can.

As for transfers, that bit makes even less sense.

which, uh, no.

Don't know why they didn't stick with the positions given when they confirm squads. Far too many wingers and AM's down as forwards.
