Id be suprised if they Russia didnt host it, and being honest its something that the country deserves.

However I still think Qatar wont. That should have gone to Australia, no question. It was only for the back handers and promises of untold millions that swung it for them. But the WC shouldn't be about who has the most money. It should be about who wants/needs/deserves it the most. A WC in Australia would do wonders for the sport in that part of the world IMO.

Deserves, not so sure what with the human rights stuff going on over there but I've no complaints they got it over us in terms of hosting it based on ability to host a WC.

Deserves in a footballing sense. Im not going into human rights abuses and stuff. But they had a stronger case. Look at the bidders:

Belgium & Netherlands
England
Russia
Portugal & Spain

All those countries have hosted in recent history. So they were probably most deserving from that POV. Hardly a controversial statement.

England haven't hosted it since 1966. Spain, 1982, Portugal, Holland, Belgium never etc etc.

It's a different tournament so I don't think so.

And if it did, it would have 22 years between tournaments for England. It's a long time imo.

I dont know TBH. I am a fan of it going all over the world. If a country has hosted it once then it should be a LONG LONG time before they get it again. If they claim football to be a global game, then it should go all over. But to Footballing countries.

You cant dispute that the general population of Russia deserves the WC. Just because their ruling classes are extremely questionable, doesnt mean they shouldn't have it.

Do they want it? They didn't apply to host, their ruling classes did it but will be paying for it.

There should be a random lottery amongst fifa members. If you aren't prepared to host it and be in the hat then so be it. No votes, no bribes and a fairer system.

That's not how things work though, I'm sure the general populous of North Korea are sound but I'd not want to see a major sporting event sanctioned there due to their appalling human rights record.

The fact that these tournaments could get offered out again is almost as suspicious as the initial corrupt bidding process.

Potentially if the same creatures involved the previous time are involved again, great way of getting paid twice for your vote though
