      I was at the Brisbane match on the Friday night then flew with my son to Melbourne on Saturday & we road tripped the Great Ocean Rd into Adelaide arriving Monday. Great experience & what about the rain in Melbourne as they’ll try & nab the matches for the MCG. I saw us play Victory there in 2013 too.

          Which is exactly what Australia is.

          I'd be amazed if Aus / NZ get awarded it due to the timezones.

          It wouldn't be appealing to the majority sponsors.

          The only way it'll happen is if there is significant Government backing (bribes) to offset the potential lost revenue.

            We've had multiple Olympics in Australia, with the next one in Brissy in 2032, so why not a World Cup as well? Put some matches on delay and start the big ones earlier or later than usual local time, problem solved!

              Agree with the "Arsehole of the World" comment, but is the idea of Australia hosting it much different from Japan having the Final in 2002?

                      I stand by my original point that the World Cup wouldn't be held in Australia/ NZ because the timezone ****ery would greatly reduce the appeal of the tournament to advertisers and sponsors.

                          Timezones are pretty much the same as majority of Sth East Asia and China, Japan etc. Not sure if you're aware of it, but a vast percentage of the worlds population is in this area.
