England are matching Italy though, I have never seen England get off to as promising start in tournament football as this for the whole time I have been watching football!

Stevie & Henderson haven't featured much in the midfield as Italy are dominating possession. I agree Stevie's passing has been poor & game has passed him by. I think England have done ok, Rooney hasn't played well but to be fair to him... he's is being played out of position & sure the ball he gave in was class.

Sterling & Wellbeck have been their best players in that first half IMO.

I was in the pub and ended up watching the first half by virtue of being there.

Verdict so far..

I was quite surprised at the attacking nature of the personnel employed by England. And also their flexibility in their play. It's very un Hodgson in many ways.

Ok they aren't dominating, but they haven't done that ever. They deserve to be at least equal imo.
