They obviously targeted that side, Rooney did nothing to help Baines whereas on the other side, Wellbeck played well

And yeah, as a result that side of the painted pitch was even more knackered second half
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I thought England deserved a draw. Italy were the better team but England more dangerous, if that makes sense.

All of our boys played well, Gerrard probably the quietest/least effective. Difficult for him to have a big influence on a game when England barely had more than 30% of the ball. It will be different in the next two games when England should have the majority of the ball and Gerrard will be able to dictate play rather than be one of 10 lads chasing shadows.

Sterling is just magnificent. LOL @ all those tools who think he's another Aaron Lennon.

A shame the game bypassed Barkley.

I'd get Lallana in for Rooney. That front four would have great pace and lovely balance.

So would I, but it's not going to happen. Hodgson doesn't have the balls to drop Rooney.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Hart's reaction to Pirlo's FK........(any excuse to have another look at his technique)

Rooney let the side down by continually abandoning his position all night long. If he had stuck to his job we wouldn't have lost, he let his team mates down last night, but then most of us knew that would happen.

As for more talented players than him, based on the last 12/18 months Sturridge, Sterling and Lallana are all better than him. Hell, even Wellbeck offers more to the team than him.

I really don't rate Wellbeck never have but he offered far more than Rooney last night and I'd rather see him starting on Thursday over Rooney; no chance he'll get dropped though regardless of what he actually offers to the side.

Yeah Welbeck had a great first half last night, faded a bit in the second but definately did enough to justify his place.

If I was Roy I'd just switch Rooney and Sterling for the next game and push him up a bit more, think for me that's the best option.

I took the Rooney suggestion/argument to be a joke, it wasn't worthy of further discussion as far as I could see.

Welbeck did okay - perhaps he could do a job instead of Johnson? I'm not sure we need a defensive attacker at the front, but we could do with an attacking defender at the back. Worth a try?

Any chance the Ox will start ahead of Wooney if fit? I'm sure he won't but he probably should.

Sterlings early shot we all thought it was in, about 30 of us doing the Sturridge singing and dancing for a good minute, look backed to the tele and it was 0-0

Think Sterling was the only one who didn't think it was in.
