The only recent game I can recall seeing him play was with Villa in the 2-2 against us and seem to remember him having a good game.

I think people are saying are he's average because he has an average sounding name, i.e average Bertrand. Bit tight on him.

C'mon you lot FFS, he's not average is he??

Honest to god, I'm absolutely convinced no one wants him because of his name. Discrimination that is.

I'm not sure why we need to strengthen our third choice left back position but it looks like we are doing

                Not the level we need.

Would be a lot of money spent in already and we are yet to improve our first XI.

I think he'll be great. Solid at the back. Quick, good attacking threat. More of an end product than Enrique. Not being able to get in a team ahead of Ashley Cole at his peak and Azpilicueta doesn't make someone ****.

And he looked pretty good in a horrific Villa side last year. Everytime I saw them he was their best player by miles.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I think he's going to be a good signing and for £6m, better than paying over the odds for an unknown quantity (Moreno). Moreno does roll off the tongue as pure filth though.

Seen him a few times and he's never looked poor or average. He knows how to play but does it unassumingly.

I am not his biggest fan, but he'll be better than Flanagan.

Under Rafa he played very well at Chelsea, then he had a very loan period at Villa. I think its avery good signing too be honest, very quick and solid, and at £6m compared to £33 for Shaw its represents good business
I make no apologies, this is me

I can see an argument for Lallana but I personally don't see him as better than Coutinho or Sterling and its Suarez who's place is up for grabs so that's not even an argument. He'll add great squad depth and won't be a downgrade when he comes on but I stand by what I said, so far we haven't improved our first XI.

That's over £40m. Squad depth added, now for the first team.. My point being that's a fairly substantial amount and after how poor last summer was I think its natural to have concerns. Or massive improvement on the pitch meant it wasn't a problem but isolate it and it was a very poor window.

                                some good points there.

Bertrand & Lovren who we have been linked with aren't really an improvement on the starting 11 either.
