I think it's because most teams had a shaky start to the season in La Liga, even with their record they're only 4 points from Barca and 1 from Atl. In a normal season they might have been 8-9 points behind now.

If they lose El Classico this weekend it might be another story... Also the first El Classico in 11 years without Messi or Ronaldo being present!
