La Liga aims to get the best players in the world in Spain

The president of Spain's top division says he wants to attract all the best players in the world to the country and rival the commercial power of the English Premier League.

La Liga boss Javier Tebas even joked he wants "the best 500 players" in global football in the league.
Luis Suarez (£75m) and Gareth Bale (£85.3m) have left England for Spain in the last two summer transfer windows.

"We are not going to stop. We want the best 500 players," said Tebas.

The Premier League's last domestic TV deal alone earned it £3.018bn.
"We want to make sure we have the biggest clubs and also the best players from the whole world in our league," said Tebas.

      Real complete deal for Navas

Real Madrid sign Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas

Real Madrid have signed Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas on a six-year deal.
Navas was a star performer for his country in Brazil this summer as they reached the quarter-finals of the Fifa World Cup for the first time.
The 27-year-old moves to the Santiago Bernabeu from La Liga side Levante.
It is believed the European champions were required to pay £7.9m to Levante to activate the keeper's release clause.
Navas will be presented to the club's fans at the Bernabeu on Tuesday after undergoing a medical.
A statement published on Real's official website on Sunday evening read: "Real Madrid CF and Levante UD have reached an agreement over the transfer of Keylor Navas, who will be tied to the club for the next six seasons."
The keeper is the third player to join the European champions this summer after the signings of German World Cup winner Toni Kroos and Columbian forward James Rodriguez.
Navas will provide competition for Spanish keepers Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez.

Madrid just seem to sign anyone that's had a good World Cup.

Navas has been fantastic since he signed for Levante, he's a very good keeper. Good price for him & better than what they curently have.

Dan you appear to be "one of those". You seem to have watched every game, from every league and know of every player.

Nah don't pretend to either, but judging by your comment about Madrid buying anyone that has had a good world cup.... clearly i watch more than you

Ah I only watch it because I'd bet on it... And if there's one league to bet on statistically.. It's the primera league. Absolute joke it is.

I was calling him a blagger not a cunt

No one can watch that many games and know about all those players. As if he sat in watching every Levante game last season. It's ludicrous, but if that's what he wants us all to believe then fine

Anyone that regularly watches La Liga in general would have heard of him last season. I do & you don't as you said... me watching another footballing league is not exactly earth shattering news.

And sure all the spiffy comments won't make up for that fact you hadn't got a ****ing notion what you were talking about

                            Agree with Dan

Watch La Liga most weekends and Navas was definitely a standout player for Levante last year. Considering Levante's budget they don't do too badly with their transfers and performances.

Navas is just the latest example (there's more obscure players that would be better examples) of a general theme of "know it all" football fans who claim to know every detail of every footballer in every league.

Dan might not be one, you might not be either Mike, but there are so many of these types on Twitter and on here at times. They claim to know every player in world football, what they can and cannot do, strengths and weaknesses etc.

In reality it's simply not feasible for anyone to watch that many games and live a normal, healthy life. So they are either lying/exaggerating or they really do nothing else other than watch football 24/7.

Is that spiffy enough for you Dan?

                                I get what you mean.

In fairness I could probably only name three or four Levante players for example, Navas was one only because he was arguably their best player last season, which the commentators kept referring to when watching La Liga.
