Indeed, but he's not really that fancied, particularly by their fans. I'm pretty sure Ancelotti would want to use other players but perhaps feel he'll be crucified if he does. But madness really, it's like 2002 all over again.Originally posted by john316 View PostHow Khedira wasn't picked today was just beyond me. Isco/Modric/Kroos midfield 3 not solid enough away from home vs many teams.

€500 MILLION OVER 20 YEARS FOR RENAMING STADIUM
The Abu Dabi Santiago Bernabéu

Real Madrid are close to closing their most lucrative deal ever. The figures are jaw-dropping: the club is to rake in between €450 and 500 million over 20 years. In return, the sponsor would have the right to include its name in the stadium's.
In short, the Santiago Bernabéu would be re-baptised in exchange for an astronomical sum of money. Real Madrid have been working on a deal that would include a name-change for their stadium for some time now, and it seems that a deal is close to being signed.
The club has an agreement with IPIC (International Petroleum Investment Company), 100% owned by the royal family of Abu Dabi.
Consultation
The deal would give Real the money they need for the remodelling of the stadium, a project that has been planned extensively and is ready to be executed.
The only thing standing in the club's way is the Plataforma Civica de Vecinos del Bernabéu (Neighbours of the Bernabéu Civil Platform), which has protested against the proposed works being carried out.
The sponsorship/name-changing deal may very well be the blockbuster news announced today during the club's General Assembly.
The agreement is as spectacular as it is delicate. Florentino Pérez has always been concerned of the fans' reaction to the re-naming of the stadium. However, the money involved makes it an offer difficult to refuse.
