    Afc liverpool

    Hello all,

I'm a fan and member of AFC Liverpool and I'm going to post updates here about the club over the course of this season.
For those Reds who aren't aware of us, we are a fan-owned community club, aimed at Liverpool fans, established in 2008 to provide a low-cost alternative to anyone priced out of premier league footy.
We play our games in the North West Counties League, Premier Division, at Step 5 of the non-league pyramid. Only 10 promotions away from the Premier League
    Adults £5 Seniors £3 U18′s £2 Footy for a fiver or less!

It is important to note, we are not a protest against LFC, nor do we wish to poach fans away from our beloved LFC, but I personally would like to see more of my fellow Reds pay us a visit this year.
Our 3pm Saturday games rarely conflict with the LFC games scheduled for TV, so why not give us a try? You may be pleasantly surprised at the quality of football we are capable of!
This season AFC Liverpool will be playing their matches at The Arriva Stadium in Crosby, home of Marine FC. Their pitch is one of the best in the North West and we hope it will match our ethos of 'playing football the right way'.

We play our landlords, Marine FC in a pre-season friendly, this Saturday 26th July 3pm
    The Arriva Stadium
    College Rd
    Crosby
    Liverpool
    L23 3AS

If you would like to be kept informed about the club, or come along to a game, check all the links below.
I'll be checking in here regularly too if you want to ask me anything about AFC Liverpool!
    Regards
    Greg Armstrong

Cool man - I'm not from Liverpool so chances of me making it are very slim but I'm looking forward to hearing how they get on.
The times they are a changin'.

I don't think he'd have wanted to sit on your bench either!

They don't have a bench, they use a second hand Crossville bus shelter.

Those that killed her, were following the law.

Any ex-players involved with the club mate? Hopefully in a few years, the club might be able to send a fwew youngsters for experience.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I didn't realise that Marine's ground was their home stadium. About 5 minutes walk from where I used to live.

Having been shafted by the clubs new ticketing system this year, costing me hundreds of pounds, I’d have been all for supporting a breakaway team.

I might try and catch a few games when I'm over in Merseyside. How far towards the pennines does the North West League stretch? I'm just having a quick gander at the fixture list and could get to Glossop and Silsden quite easily.

                      You can't beat live footy.

We have several ex-LFC players as club patrons, Joey Jones, John Aldridge, Vegard Heggem, David Johnson and Erik Meijer as well as Karen Gill, George Sephton, and boxer David Price.

In our earlier years we signed a couple of former LFC reserve players, such as Ryan Wignall and Paul Willis.

Our current manager is former Worcester City keeper, Paul Moore.

We are always looking to forge more links with ex-players. There was even a rumour of a former LFC player signing to play a few games with us this season!

We have started groundsharing with Marine this season. For the last 5 seasons, we have been based at Valerie Park, Prescot: home of Prescot Cables.

Silsden is the furthest east it goes, although the league once included Bradford Park Avenue
Colne, Silsden, Bacup, Glossop and Stockport Sports may be convenient for you. But we would love to welcome you to Crosby sometime!

You are right, we aren't a breakaway, but we can't deny we attracted fans in our early years who were disillusioned by LFC under Hicks and Gillett. But we believe we deliver a good brand of footy for an affordable price. We would like to attract more fans for positive reasons like this!
