Be good to see Sky and BT stitched up.

With an extra £21 billion per year, hopefully that's enough to pay some off to overwrite that stupid 3pm rule.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Having all televised games shown by one provider makes things simpler and cheaper for fans so it makes sense. I can see the appeal for the PL too, although getting into broadcasting is a big step and given how good the football authorities are at organising things, I could easily see them cocking it up
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We already get that over here. With Optus it's $15 (about 8 quid) you get streaming access to all pl and cl matches live or on demand + highlights, mini matches, pundit type talk shows etc.

Mileage may vary as I hear they're good at blocking VPN end points but potentially could work from the UK.

It’s the best deal hey & its free for Optus customers.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

It definitely beats $75 for fox + sports + hd and another $15 for Bein. And I was already with Optus for mobile

The premier league already in that they have a joint venture with IMG group for commentary on live games and pre/pro game analysts.
Overseas rights are sold with premier league productions content So the local broadcasters don’t have to spend further money on their own pre match programs as they use to do.

Noticed this in another thread. But I think a convo about the price of watching football is warrented by the powers that be.

As pointed out. Its £58 plus PPV costs now to watch games.

                  Thats pure greed.

TV rights were split up to give customers (and thats all we are now) a choice. But we dont have a choice. The choice isnt between Sky and BTs coverage. its between watching a set of games in different places.

I HATE the cost of following a team now. I pay for Sky Sports for my Dad to be able to watch it. I myself wouldn't bother now. Match of the Day will do me fine.

I missed all of our Champions league run the year we won it, listened to it all on 5Live. Except the final on Youtube.

Fans are being cut out more and more in favour of bottom lines and Im kind of sick of it. Being a football fan used to mean something to me. Now it just means I need deep pockets if I want to keep up.

It absolutely outrageous as is never mind the PPV games. Our sky bill is 108 quid a month ffs, contract ends next month so going to do some cutting and haggling... exorbitant prices! I love football but it's getting a bit absurb to be honest. Premier sports seems to be showing a good few of the PPV games which is something I suppose, I would never pay for PPV anyways. I could consider going back to IPTV. I was trying to justify it by saying things like "think of the money I would spend down the pub" or I would go without other luxuries but yeah it's ****ing daylight robbery.

Out of principle I wont pay some dodgy service for it. I dont know where the money is going.

Thats not a judgement on others from me, Ive just heard stories about money and where it was going a few years ago and it put me right off it.

I am fully of the opinion that Amazon will own the rights in a few years anyway and fold it into the Prime or something extra within Prime. So thats our best hope? A lunatic who makes more a second than I will in 10 years.

My issue with the dodgy links/boxes etc etc is the consistency/supply.

They work for a week and then things get shut down/don't work, or lag happens etc.

i can't be arsed fiddling around for an hour trying to find the game - especially as due to kids/family, when i want to watch the footy, i usually only have like 5 mins before kick off when i get control of the remote/tv. Last thing i want is to then to find out i can't get the stream working or my box needs an update or the game isn't on.

I pay for sky - got them down to £60.00 a month for full package so that's not to bad and for BT, i have my dad's username and password so i can log into the app on the xbox and it works well enough.

The ppv is a ****ing killer tho - i would never pay for other teams games, but our games I have the desire/want to watch them, there is **** all else on tv unless i give in an want to watch strictly, and it's not like i can go the pub or to a mates to watch them.

So what do you do - give in to the greed which is what they are banking on or go without and wait for 10 mins of highlights at 10:30 and was Strictly Dancing ****e instead.

                        £5.00 a game, i'd settle with that.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I didn't have a problem with paying for sky when it was just them and they or terrestrial TV had the CL games, even when you paid a bit extra when they expanded the range of games (Sky initially had PPV games but you could pay about 40 or 50 quid to get them all for the season). Even though you probably get the same number of games on Sky as you used to years back (because they have increased the number shown) it feels like you are being screwed if you have to get BT to watch the CL as well.

The reality of football is most fans just want to watch their own clubs and probably some of the other big games so a package that allowed you to do that would be very popular, obviously though there are issues with that in terms of clubs wanting larger shares of revenue because they are more popular and BT or Sky being hacked off because they can't exploit people into buying both.

I have virgin broadband. Pay 47 quid a month for a 200mb line.

I tried to get a sky sports and bt sport package, and they said they couldnt do it unless I have a tv box. I dont have a tv, just a desktop and monitor. They cant just give access via broadband.

They actually offered a decent deal for 18 months, only an extra 25 quid for everything, including all the basic sky channels and a phone libe, although the total package goes to 120 quid after the 18 months.

Then I noticed sky sports is all in standard def.

                            hmmmm...

                              I’ve got Virgin. £110 a month.

That’s two boxes, sky sports, BT sports, LY cinema. Broadband is 500mb.

Feels like I’m paying too much but didn’t have options.

I'm paying £42 a month for 2x 4G dongles that each give a rough speed of ~10mbps without any TV packages, if that helps you feel better?
