Whilst I don't disagree that a lot of these are ****, I do think our expectations are a bit high at times. Live TV in particular, is not easy. I think a lot of us on here would end up looking like Ortis 'Jessica Ennis, goodnight' Deley. It's all just filler, they should do away with most of it. Show the football and more or less everything else can **** off.

I don't think expectations are high. It's not an impossible task.
There are plenty of examples in other sports of how it could be. Ortis should not be a benchmark

He's obviously not a benchmark, just more an example of how terrible someone can be on live TV despite being experienced in TV, let alone a novice.
You can't bung your typical dim ex-pro on and expect them to come out with gold dust, it's entirely unsurprising they fall into pushing the same old hackneyed crap. It then becomes the norm.
If shows actually looked to pick people they could develop as quality pundits it might be fair to expect something worth listening to. But it's entirely unsurprising to me that the current approach gives us bilge.

Agreed. It's a football thing though. Nothing to do with the pressures of live TV or general TV. Rugby doesn't have the same problem (players are often more dislikeable but in a different way)
But what they're saying is surely more irritating than their tone of voice?
If Owen read out one of Venton's youth team commentaries, I'd love it.
"testes swollen with rage"
Not for me. Phil Neville actually makes a lot of sense but I'd rather use a cheese grater on my cock than listen to the dull cunt.
I can see football on TV with eyes, I don't need any expert **** spouted during a game, leave that for the studio, I want a voice that doesn't grate, some genuine excitement for the subject and some off the cuff humour in limited amounts. Lawroes dry humour is perfect, he knows full well the modern game of football is a ****ing charade, played by cheats and cunts and instead of feeding their egos he says what he sees. In the studio or on match of the day he's ****. There has to be a clear line drawn between co commentor and studio pundit. The modern thinking, especially in the world cup, was you can do both. You ****ing well can't.
Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

It's definitely worse with football for a few reasons. I don't think any sport is immune though. Funny enough, just saw this on twitter and it seemed to sum up the inanity of it all
Omfg best news ever, was lying in bed half asleep, got a message n Facebook, whilst in Facebook on my fone I see someone has posted chiles sacked....I sat up...checked it...it's ****ing true...get the **** i hate that cunt, many many posts I've had on here about him....****ing made up hahahaha
