Saido Berahino put up for sale by furious West Bromwich Albion

Exclusive: England under-21 striker will be sold in the summer after club lose patience with his poor attitude

West Bromwich Albion are ready to scrap contract talks with Saido Berahino and will consider offers for the forward in the summer.

Albion will reluctantly allow the England under-21 international to leave the Hawthorns at the end of the season in what appears increasingly likely to be an acrimonious parting of the ways.

Berahino is also set to be fined for an interview with Sky Sports which was agreed without the permission of his club, in which he admitted he hopes to “move on to bigger things”.

The 21-year-old declared he was focused on scoring the goals to keep Albion in the Premier League before leaving at the end of the season.

Berahino’s interview comes three weeks after he was banned from driving for 12 months after pleading guilty to drink-driving and has infuriated senior members of the dressing room.

Albion officials are also growing increasingly exasperated with his conduct and will abandon plans to restart negotiations over a new contract. The club had intended to open talks once the transfer window closed but there is now an acceptance he will be sold, albeit on the club’s terms.

Berahino has reportedly attracted interest from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur after an impressive season but Albion did not receive any bids in the January window.

However, they do expect interest in the summer and will listen to offers of over £20million for the former youth trainee.

Berahino is certain to be vital for the club for the remainder of the season as Tony Pulis battles to avoid relegation to the Championship

If we are in the market to offer over £20m for an up and coming attacking player, then I would expect to be after a far better player than Berahino

Would be pissed if we spent £15m on him. Let some other club splash out on him if they want.

Imagine we said Suarez's attitude stinks, we will sell him in the summer. Do you reckon we would have got £40m. Clubs would have laughed while taking him away in a Morrisons bag for £30m max.

I reckon some club will get Berahino for £15m absolute max (which isn't a lot for an English striker). Could even be us, but the summer is a long way away. We've got Ibe to develop and Origi/Ings to get in yet.
                One tit for another.

                  Jeez, everyone forgets Aspas.

But I'd leave him be unless it's on a reduced price.

I'd rather have Ings. There probably isn't that much between them, and as limited as Ings appears, he seems to be a decent person with his feet on the ground

If we buy just one of them the club could just.... say; Ings? could only get Bera!
