Southampton believe they have an existing contract with Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld and have threatened to take legal action against the Spanish side should they sell to any other club.

According to France football, Real Madrid owner Florentino Perez has met with the owners of PSG in Qatar on Saturday to discuss the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo. With UEFA relaxing their Financial Fair Play rule, PSG are allowed to make high profile signings again and it is likely they are targeting Ronaldo to move to Paris next season.

They've put some clause in that if the new president doesn't fancy him Athletico can buy him back before the 20th July.

United have offered £20million for Schneiderlin and been told to come back with a fee closer to £30m if they are serious about landing the France midfielder.

'Every player has his price and we have a good experience of selling players,' said Koeman. 'If there is interest in Morgan Schneiderlin, then okay, but it has to be at a price that the club wants.

Considering we're moaning about paying £32m for a 20 a season striker, would you pay £30m for Schneiderlin?

You have to give Southampton credit, they certainly can do business. Their stance is "You want our player? Well then pay what we are asking!". Fair play to them, they've done some fantastic business over the last few seasons & somehow have managed to look a stronger side.

I'm very interested to see who they will bring in next season for £500 quid, that will be sold for £20 million next season.

He seems decent alright. Hopefully he's one of the Italians that has a nightmare in the premier league.

Was actually wondering about that "Italian curse" as a reason not to buy him - outside of Zola, Di Canio and possibly Carbone what Italian player has had sustained success in England over a number of years?

I know it's crazy. Clearly the adaption from Serie A to the Premier League is a massive transition & it does seems that most of them can't cut it.

The pace and tempo is so far ahead. Always very dubious abut buying Italian players. Hope he has a nightmare for United.
