Must be great being a footballer today. Obviously if you are good you'll get the rewards that come with it, but even when you are past it or even if you were never even that good to begin with, you have the option to head to America to play instead of taking on the likes of Yeovil or Scunthorpe.

I was actually thinking about that this morning when SSN was on in teh background and I head Sean St Ledger getting mentioned in commentary.

Must be absolutely sickening for ex-players who are missing out on it all.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has also confirmed that the club remain interested in Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmalenko, for whom they are reported to have made a £13m bid,
"We've expressed an interest, but we're not the only club," Hughes told BBC Radio Stoke. "I'm not sure how it's progressing. We're in the market for good players but we also understand that there are other clubs who covet players at that level.
"We are encouraged by the conversations we're having but we also know we have just got to be patient. If it can be done, then the club will try to make it happen."

If that should happen that will be four of the Bale money players gone after two seasons. There is also talk of Chiriches to napoli, so that would be five and leave just Solardo and Erisken (the only success of that group)

                    I saw that also:

Record has joined forces with DN and are reporting the same thing; Lamela is very close to join Porto on loan. Claim he's unhappy in London.

Massive financial loss for Spurs - Lamela cost circa £30m I thought and was the one they felt would 'replace' Bale. Watch him shine at Porto and move for big money in 2 years again!

And not a ****ing peep from the media. That's worse than Andy Carroll, at least he scored a few decent goals (City and Chelsea)
