The only massive waste of money for me is Balotelli.

Can will be an excellent midfielder
Markovic will either grow a pair or we'll sell but not make a massive loss
Lovren might actually have learned how to defend (could still be a waste)
Lambert seemed like a good shout but we didn't lose a lot
Balotelli, celebrity
Lallana, for £16m he can contribute a lot and is a leader on the pitch as well as very skillful. I think he'd be excellent in Europe.

Shaqiri going to Stoke is a good move from him IMO. He needs to show people he can perform in a team consistently, and every place he has been he has not shown that. Schalke is another side that will have high pressure from the get go and not allow him to bed in.

He did reasonably well at Inter at the start, but apparently dropped off badly, so we will see with Stoke.
