Last time I remember thinking like that about a British based player Newcastle turned down a £25m+ deal from Spurs for Andy Carroll, then we all know what happenedOriginally posted by BigChief View Post20m for Frankendeeney?
Is Laurel thick for making the offer or Hardy for rejecting it?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If only they'd have bought Benteke they'd have been sortedOriginally posted by Irishnev View PostYou prob saw the games v Atletico I guess? They just about blitzed everyone else using the same tactic by creating overlaps for their wide-players and getting crosses to Lewa or cut backs to one of their attacking midfielders. They had Costa, Ribery & Coman out wide and this was enough for most games but Robben's injury really cost them v Atletico. As "predictable" as he is (cut inside and shoot on the left) he seems to still be able to do it at will and win games himself.
Atletico's full backs (F Luis & Juanfran) were superb in the two legs and I think Costa was subbed off in both games. Added to that the cover they got from the midfield was insane + they had some amount of luck. All of this negated their tactics and they ended up lumping balls onto the head of Godin & Giminez. Simeone won the tactical battle vs Pep and Bayern didn't really have a plan B to fall back on.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

It's because he's their 'Gerrard' - club captain, an actual living legend to their fans, hard worker, their best player, etc. They know that 20m could get them someone with better footballing ability, but it would be impossible to replace everything else he brings to the club both on and off the pitch. Plus with the new tv rights deal, they're in no hurry to sell. I actually like this mutual affection they haveOriginally posted by BigChief View Post20m for Frankendeeney?

He's actually a good footballer but playing for an unfashionable team. Scored 13 goals in his debut PL season, I can imaging he'll score more for a better team.Originally posted by BigChief View Post20m for Frankendeeney?
