Don't think he has been a flop, I would say it's more like just a terrible transfer. When a club spends a fortune on a player that the manager system clearly isn't suited to & who has no faith in the player, it's a disaster. After that argument back at the start of January, Lukaku was on borrowed time at Chelsea and he stopped trying. Seemed like a real toxic relationship between him and Tuchel who generally seems like a spikey, arrogant ****** anyways. When played correctly, Lukaku is a beast.
The Athletic has reported that Raheem Sterling has been enquiring about what it's like to live in West London, amid speculation Chelsea are interest in him. Not sure if it's a bit of a wind up considering he come from West London
Can you define a flop and then define a terrible transfer?
I'll give it a bash, imo a flop is a signing that gets ample mins, in a system and under a manager he is suited to but things just don't work out. A terrible signing, is a signing that absolutely does not suit the system (Rom up top on his own ) and one in which the manager has no faith in the player in that system. Lukaku played similar mins to Naby which is about 50% ish, after those comments which I thought were tame, he was done at Chelsea.
You'd have thought he mightve gone back to see his Mum once in a while though
Mail Exclusive: Lovely Phil Foden regularly makes time to visit his mum
Mail Exclusive: Lazy Raheem takes more time away from training to go back to London
Kalvin Phillips to Leeds? Not really the calibre of player I thought I'd see City go for?
Part of their 'mopping-up mediocre teams' best English players' strategy... like Grealish last season. Carabao starting 11 is going to be mightily impressive
