And they are attracting these players without Champions League football or any European football for that matter, I would also suspect that the wages in Italy are nowhere near the level of the Premiership so it goes to show these deals can be done for top quality playersKurtangled in the McFadden thread 16/01/08

Definetely, I think we could attract good players we just target the wrong ones and place far too much emphasis on value. Having said that, if this were to happen I'd be happy with it, promising player but would improve us now as well, don't see why they'd sell though.Originally posted by Gazzla View PostAnd they are attracting these players without Champions League football or any European football for that matter, I would also suspect that the wages in Italy are nowhere near the level of the Premiership so it goes to show these deals can be done for top quality players
Kovacic has on average over 2 key passes and chances created per game which is higher than Coutinho's who is at 1.7 and 1.8. Surely Inter can use him?
Looking at their squad, they have Guarin, Kovacic, Hernanes, M'Vila and Medel in midfield, but Kovacic had the highest score at Sqwawka and played almost all the games. Seems like a key player for them.Last edited by The_weatherman; 22-06-15, 01:37 PM.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Wouldn't say they're all top quality, Kondogbia has looked very good but he's the stand out from those signed or linked.Originally posted by Gazzla View PostAnd they are attracting these players without Champions League football or any European football for that matter, I would also suspect that the wages in Italy are nowhere near the level of the Premiership so it goes to show these deals can be done for top quality playersVive la France

Liverpool continues to pursue Inter’s Kovacic: the situation
Liverpool is taking concrete steps to acquire Kovacic. The Reds are interested in the midfielder who now could be leaving Inter. The nerazzurri don't want to go below €30 million if they do sell him, but that sum may not scare off Liverpool. The two clubs will continue to negotiate, Kovacic could be playing at Anfield. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The **** is our midfield going to be?
Midfield of Henderson, Can, Milner, Lucas and Kovacic
Firmino, Ibe, Lallana, Markovic and Coutinho in attacking roles
Then the strikers.
Looks like we have too many players or are we just building a very good quality squad? Are we just used to an average squad with one or two good players? Was muß, das muß.

Well without doubts we would start to look like we have good competition in various positions. What I do hope is that the signings we make for good money have a place ear marked for them in the starting XI to make one of last seasons regulars a squad player.
That's how you improve the squad. Not by buying players not good enough for the team. I make exceptions for young lads who are brought in on the cheap.Forwards.......

Lots of inbalance in that squad as it is that's even before we talk about Kovacic
No decent fullbacks and we are short of a dedicated holding player. I am not sure we can rely on Lucas over a full seasonBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

You're relentless with your negativity on here, we need a right back and we haven't previously played with a dedicated holding midfielder, it's safe to consider that we'll be looking at a deep lying midfielder again which can work with the right mobility and awareness.
I'd obviously like to see a striker come in as well but as proven with the side Shaggy posted yesterday the squad isn't a million miles off it's ensuring they gel and work as a unit
