Old news bud - that came out yesterday or even earlier. Rumour is we are stuck at: we offered 21m - Inter are looking for 24. As usual we may lose out because of a 3m difference.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostIsn't this guys supposed to be reliable?

@LFC have allegedly agreed terms with Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovačić from @Inter - clubs looking to agree a fee and payment structure
We will then spunk that 3m on another Mario. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

I saw the report from the Croatian media and also the rumours of the various bids we made but there was never a credible link from anyone in the know. The fact that Miller tweeted that made me hope there may be some substance to it.Originally posted by kev776 View PostOld news bud - that came out yesterday or even earlier. I thought that he was one of the more reliable ones on Twitter.

I wonder if the hold up is related to a player exchange that could possibly be included in the deal??? Lucas, Borini, Balotelli could all be potentially thrown into the deal.....
I would prefer if we kept Lucas to be honest - he would give us experience and protection for the back 4 that nobody else seems to. Our good run last year consisted of him playing alongside Henderson......when he was then left out of the team then we fell apart again.
However, with Milner and Henderson surely the new central midfield partnership, I can't see how we would be left with Kovacic, Joe Allen, Emre Can and Lucas all as options for the DM position. (with Joe Allen also being back up for Milner or Henderson).

It depends on what formation Rodgers goes with this year. If he uses the diamond that worked so well for us then you are looking atOriginally posted by frank the tank View PostI wonder if the hold up is related to a player exchange that could possibly be included in the deal??? DM
Henderson Milner
Coutinho
With the exception of Lucas none of our players are traditional DMs but others could play that role (Can for example).
I think if Kovacic signs (
) then he would work better as one of the two ahead of the DM. We already have Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana & possibly Markovic who plays as the number 10.
I suspect Rodgers will start the same way he has every year and go 4-3-3 so Kovacic would be one of the three but that seems to shunt Coutinho to the left wing then.

Inter, pending the Offerton for Kovacic: Liverpool to like it, but not for 25 million
Rodgers is in love with the Croatian and prove a "Coutinho-bis": but the request is considered excessive Inter
JUNE 9, 2015 - MILAN
Sluggish market outgoing Inter. Not a surprise, given the season just ended. For now, few bids and not up to expectations. Even that for Mateo Kovacic, who day after day seems increasingly the great sacrifice, is yet to come. In England several days to turn the figures with which the Reds would refer to Coutinho bis. Ie exploiting the hardships of a young man at Inter and watch it explode at Anfield. But the truth is that Liverpool only recently made official confirmation of Brendan Rodgers. The technician is "in love" the 21-year old Croatian, which he sees as heir to Steven Gerrard. The contact between the two clubs so it should be a matter of days, if not hours. But at that point will start going through the motions, because hardly the British offer those 25 million that represent the minimum basis for Inter. Unless in the deal does not come Skrtel.

I'm not one to blow up at our transfers but I do wish that for the sake of a few million just stump up the cash instead of being tight wads.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

He is, very, but most his stuff is off-field - finances, stadium etc. He knew Chang was going before any other journo. Doesn't usually get involved with player stuff.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostIsn't this guys supposed to be reliable?
