Ah who cares? It's not as if they were promoted with the most expensive squad.

I guess their supporters would care if they were to be disqualified.

Well that's true, but it would be a scandal if they were stripped of a title in the Premier League for something that dates back to the Championship.

QPR had a far more expensive squad that season

If they are it smacks of the PL doing all they can to ensure the "right" teams can win the league

If it is true the timing of the story is incredibly suspicious.

The Football League have been looking at this for a while (Swiss Ramble blog includes some info on it) but yes its now "newsworthy" whereas a month ago it wasn't.

FFP only applies to Europe right? They would still be champions...?

I think you can be docked points, but it's the nuclear option - can't see that happening at all. Might take a little bit of gloss off the romance though, which would be a shame.

How on earth would they fall foul of FFP?

Tickets to watch Premier League leaders Leicester's final home game are being offered for £15,000 a pair through an online re-sale website.

The 7 May match against Everton, which could see the Foxes become champions, sold out in 90 minutes on Monday.

But within hours, individual tickets were being advertised for more than £3,000 each and a pair for much more.

Yep. The football league has its own version of FFP.

Why it's taken them this long to not conclude their investigation is anyone's guess.
                          Oh I don't know.

Reading that it would appear that Leicester have done a few naughty things to get around paying a fine under the Football League's FFP.

                              Pretty incredible stat this:

In their 15 league games since losing to Liverpool on Boxing Day, Leicester have been behind in matches for a total of 20 minutes.
