I think they may ban helicopters from taking off from inside stadiums after this. Just way to risky.

Wasn’t the fault with the rear propeller though? Not sure the stadium part of it was an issue?

Liverpool Football Club owners John W Henry, Tom Werner and Mike Gordon issue statement

"It is with great sadness that we today offer our heartfelt sympathies to Leicester City after confirmation their owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has tragically passed away.

"Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the families and loved ones of all those lost in this dreadful accident.

"The admiration we have for Vichai, his family and colleagues is as high as you can imagine, both professionally and personally.

"He was the ultimate custodian for the club he bought and then gracefully served. The Premier League title win, one of world football's all-time great stories, is of course the standout achievement. But beyond that, he led his club in a manner which all of us in this privileged position aspire to. Success on the pitch, allied with outstanding governance off it.

"Vichai is a great loss not just to his club but to the Premier League and English football as a whole.

"The thoughts of everyone connected with Liverpool Football Club are with our friends in Leicester and Thailand."
"I will make the boys feel your support"

I was thinking more of it coming down in a area where there could have been a lot of people.

Yeah, could have been worse when you consider it that way.

Owners of football clubs are generally famous for being massively incompetent arseholes or ridiculously egotistical self publicists.

This guy won the premier league with Leicester City of all the teams, in this of Allah eras, and yet I'd wager that nobody reading this post new his name 48 hours ago.

                  A truly remarkable chairman.

I've long wondered if helicopter manufacturers have tried to develop an exterior airbag to cushion any kind of impact .

There's only one engine and no scope for gliding.

I did see a program once that showed a company that was developing one where the rotors came off in a emergency allowing for a parachute to be deployed
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

It's feasible over a certain height, after all they parachute tanks!

There is scope for gliding actually, well sort of. It uses Autorotation and all pilots are trained in it. It's possible to land safely without engine power, but probably not when the issue happens so close to the ground.
