This is what Klopp said on Markovic in March.

“We had a little talk about things. I said at the start of pre-season you will be very welcome and then it’s up to you.

“That is how it is in football. It’s a long pre-season and if he wants to come back to Liverpool in July he’s welcome.

“We are short on wingers. Everybody who is involved in pre-season can have a part to play next season. We need a big squad because of the European Championships.

“Pre-season is a long time to show what you have and then after this we’ll make decisions.”

From that, it looks like he'll be given the chance to impress during pre-season at least. If he shows signs of potential, then I can see him being kept as back-up (not in the first XI), while we buy a top wide player for the right wing.

For some reason I think Klopp will have a Plan A, B, and probably even a C in the transfer window this summer... I'm confident his name, style of football and eagerness to give youth a chance will attract the right talent.

Klopp has a template for how he likes to play the game and he will buy players to implement his style. His Plan A, B & C will be players of a similar ilk and the difference between them will be cost or experience.

Our previous regime when replacing Suarez to go with:

Plan A - Alexis Sanchez
Plan B - Loic Remi
Plan C - Mario Balotelli

Similarly they booted our Carroll because he didn't suit our 'style' of play and then bought Benteke who is a carbon copy but lazier - wtf. I really hope the days of madness in the transfer market are now behind us.

The worst thing about getting Benteke (and Ballotelli) is none of the FSG board members raised eyebrows with the 'committee'. Commolli and Dalglish were sacked for the same thing yet we were happy to repeat those mistakes.

So I wouldn't hold your breath too much just yet Irishnev. Not until there is evidence Klopp has slapped the committee into submission.
