    Copa America 2016

    Anyone been watching?

Can't believe Marquez is still playing (and scoring) for Mexico.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I paid for a month of premier sports to watch it. I've always enjoyed the South American approach to the game in playing attacking football to score goals, unlike European football which can be really boring to watch. Uruguay Mexico yday was a great game to watch - highly entertaining!

It's all so crazy too! The players are so highly strung, especially towards the referee. It's great theatre!

Not too many goals during the first few days but a bit better the last couple.

How much was Premier Sports for the month?

I cannot watch The Copa America, so stop start, so many dives, yellow cards & just a general cheat fest. Some class players but i think i'll knock it on the head until the latter stages.

I enjoyed it a few years ago when it was on the BBC.

Be ****ed if I'm paying to watch it though, don't think so.

I had to pay £11! It's a one off tho for me so enjoying the games Panama beating Bolivia was great. James Rodriguez has been very good & Mexico, Arg have looked good after their opening games.

It's a good contest as there are only 16 teams so level is high. Would rather Klopp did his shopping at this tournament as it's no secret Barca's front 3 are South American [emoji6]

Being in Mexico I've been able to watch almost all the Copa and Euro games.

It's football all day! I'm enjoying the Copa games a lot more so far though.

I agree Argentina and Mexico are looking strong. Columbia have had an easy group but messed up the game last night. Played the squad players against Costa Rica because they had already qualified and Costa only had pride to play for. Lost and ended up finishing second in the group behind USA.

What the hell was the referee doing when he gave the Peru goal against Brazil?

He was talking to someone in his mic for at 5 minutes

Dunga sacked, wonder if they'll finally get a non Gaucho coach in this time and start playing football again.

It's all about Arg for me. That performance from Messi off the bench the other night was great. All of a sudden Higuain was getting the ball in space & seemed to be in the game.
Other teams to impress me are Ecuador, USA, Columbia, Mexico & even Venezuela.

Lionel Messi announced his retirement from international duty after missing in a penalty shootout as Argentina lost a fourth major final in nine years.

"It's not meant for me. For me the national team is over. I've done all I can, it hurts not to be a champion," the 29-year-old said after defeat by Chile at the Copa America.

Manchester City attacker Sergio Aguero told reporters he and several others are also weighing up international retirement after the painful defeat. Aguero and Messi were roommates on this trip through the United States and both suffered through not only the Copa America final losses but also Argentina's 1-0 extra-time loss to Germany in the final of the 2014 World Cup.

"There are several players who are evaluating not continuing with the national team," Aguero said. "This is the worst locker room I've ever been in, worse than the final in the World Cup in Brazil and the other Copa America."

In addition to Messi's comments and Aguero's evaluation, media reports in South America have linked Javier Mascherano, Lucas Biglia, Ever Banega, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Angel Di María with potential international retirement. Argentina's next matches come in World Cup qualification with a Sept. 1 home context against Uruguay before a trip to Venezuela.

The classic Gonzalo Higuain big game choke. 3 finals in 3 years he's missed sitters now.
