Yeah he's "being bold" by giving yoof a chance. In other words, handing out caps like sweeties to nobodies who will never have a meaningful role for England.

I feel like i've said the same thing for the past 3/4 major tournaments, the time to clear out is after the tournament, look to see who wont be around or good enough in 2 years and look to bring the young players/systems/ideas in

England continually stick with the old until they qualify, then test new players/systems with very little preparation/contact time

the remit of a England manager is to play old players, qualify easily against rubbish, then figure a plan for tournament 6 months out, go out in groups or early knock outs, rinse repeat

I watched about 5 minutes. Had better things to do.

But that is exactly the type of squad Southgate should be picking for Russia.

Get rid of the established players and play youth. Our young teams have been doing exceptional recently. He must find a way to get them into the team. It's not like we would do worse than normal. These lads have little fear which the established lads have in spades. Rashford will be at his most dangerous now whilst his pace is at its quickest. Owen and Rooney were best early doors before injuries and experience caught them out.

Norbs, Jack cork has been around a while now.
