    Fixing Rife

    Apologies if posted elsewhere.

What do people make of the Halsey revelations? That they are told to say they have or haven't seen incidents. Give fouls etc.

If true it only confirms what most of us have thought was the case. It has also robbed us of some possible magical moments that can never be given back.

Football is a ****ing farce and it's needs to be blown open, destroyed and rebuilt from the ashes.

I dont think the halsey thing proves it fixed. But I do think they lie to cover up and not create problems for themselves after the games.

Football is a joke though at the moment, its not the game I grew up with.

Depends on the incident in question. If it was some cunts challenge which the FA want to clamp down on, then good on 'em, I say. Especially if it was a Chelsea player

Alex, a high figure ex ref comes out and says his organisation is telling what to report and what to award. That's serious, more so than any result we get in any game this year. It should be investigated fully and hopefully more will come out. Would love to see it all unravel. Webb must be squirming a little. It will of course all be covered up by the football family or mafia if you like.

Don't think it's that big a deal personally - it's the pragmatic way of dealing with a stupid law on retrospective punishment. What they should do is change the rules so that bad challenges can be punished afterwards regardless of what the ref at the time saw, as often they don't realise just how bad some incidents are at first glance and from their own angle. Instead, they have to pretend they haven't seen it at all for the FA to be able to take action. Daft.

Thats how I read it. The FA wont take action if the Ref has seen and not punished it. Or has seen it and made the wrong call.

The FA are to blame IMO for putting a system in place where reporting something is the wrong thing to do.

Hardly admitting to match fixing is he?

Premier league have already said they won't investigate and the PGMOL have denied it ever happened. That'll be the end of it cos no one in authority or the press has the guts to follow it up and expose it. They all earn a living thanks to the premier league gravy train.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I thought football was like wrestling... all of it fixed? Every pass and cross painstakingly choreographed beforehand?

                    No, you're thinking of darts.
