It's part of it for us.

I went to Paris for 2 days to watch a match wearing my kilt, witn 2 spare Scotland shirts and a toothbrush as luggage. Easily 80% of the support wear kilts. It's why they get referred to as the Tartan Army.

You have to admire these guys they travel about inevitably to watch the team lose, and always have a good time.

The football is almost always the worst part of any trip away!

Except for that time in Paris..!

that's it - let us wear our kilts Dom - it's all we've got!

I do have a kilt, wear it to weddings etc. I'm doubling down on the misery this weekend, out to watch the match tonight with some mates, and off to Murrayfield tomorrow for the Rugby... Where I am considering wearing my kilt!

Haha. Did you buy it for a particular occasion or is it actually de rigueur in your parts? Does everyone have one? Is there something about you having to have direct lineage to a clan in order to be allowed to wear particular tartans too?
          Oh I don't know.

I bought one because I was for ever renting and it became more cost effective.

There has been a resurgence in the wearing off then in the last 20 years or so. It has become cool. I'd never have worn one when I was a kid, but now everyone, including kids love it - my boys wore them to my sisters wedding and they looked amazing.

There is typically a tartan lineage for each family, I wear my mums - Baird because there is not one for my name.

But there are a lot of general tartans that are popular, black watch etc. Some of them are a bit rank (the red tartans) in my opinion, so it doesn't matter all that much which you go for, but if you have the link, why not?

I'm getting married next year and have lots of friends coming up from the Channel Islands, some of whom have asked about wearing kilts, and I'm all for it. If you want to wear one? Why not?

There are a couple of options for the top half of the outfit, and the one I've got is definitely hipsterish..!

Underwear is frowned upon in swinging Scotland.

I forgot those boys don't wear undies with their skirts. Carry on up the Khyber and all that.

All sounds a bit forced and placcy tbh. But if people like dressing up (as girls) then I guess it's fair enough, live and let live. i'm yanking ye sporran

At this stage Clyne could win the Balon D'or and Walker would still start for England ahead of him.
