I cant see a problem with more competative games for the smaller nations. Itll improve their standard. Getting tonked 7-0 helps no one.

Also, Spain home and away coming up. Ill take that

International football gets a bad rep, but the recent playoff games were pretty fun. You just need to look beyond England as we always walk the qualifying.

Ignoring the usual grumpy set of old men here, I think it's a good idea and let's try and move forward with it. Usually get's a fair amount of comments and could be ideal for one thread instead of an England thread and a handfull of smaller ones.

I will rename this and let's try it out

We could start it off by discussing the draw for the Nations League that replaces friendlies for most parts and have qualification of the Euro Championship / WC in the future at stake.

                  A bit on the format:

                  And the groups:

                  LEAGUE A

                  Group 1: Germany, France, Netherlands
                  Group 2: Belgium, Switzerland, Iceland
                  Group 3: Portugal, Italy, Poland
                  Group 4: Spain, England, Croatia

Four group winners play-off for the UEFA Nations League trophy in June 2019
Four sides that finish bottom of groups relegated to League B for 2020 edition
Top four-ranked League A teams that do not qualify for UEFA EURO 2020 enter play-offs in March 2020, with one EURO finals place on offer

                  LEAGUE B

Group 1: Slovakia, Ukraine, Czech Republic
                  Group 2: Russia, Sweden, Turkey
Group 3: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland
Group 4: Wales, Republic of Ireland, Denmark

Four group winners promoted to League A for 2020 edition
Four sides that finish bottom of groups relegated to League C for 2020 edition
Top four-ranked League B teams that do not qualify for UEFA EURO 2020 enter play-offs in March 2020, with one EURO finals place on offer

                  LEAGUE C

                  Group 1: Scotland, Albania, Israel
Group 2: Hungary, Greece, Finland, Estonia
Group 3: Slovenia, Norway, Bulgaria, Cyprus
Group 4: Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Lithuania

Four group winners promoted to League B for 2020 edition
Four sides that finish bottom of groups relegated to League D for 2020 edition
Top four-ranked League C teams that do not qualify for UEFA EURO 2020 enter play-offs in March 2020, with one EURO finals place on offer

                  LEAGUE D

Group 1: Georgia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Andorra
Group 2: Belarus, Luxembourg, Moldova, San Marino
Group 3: Azerbaijan, Faroe Islands, Malta, Kosovo
Group 4: FYR Macedonia, Armenia, Liechtenstein, Gibraltar

Four group winners promoted to League C for 2020 edition

I was raised on our national team before Liverpool. While a lot of the guys here were raised on the PL it is something I discovered during my teens because I loved football so much.

Sancho and Maddison rumoured to be in too.

Couldn't give a **** obviously ...but England could have some team in a few years.

The likes of Trent, Gomez, Foden, Maddison, Mount, that Mason Greenwood at United, Sancho, Brewster....probably the most talented group of youngsters for years.

That Hudson-Odoi looks a player at Chelsea too.

                              Sancho is **** and overrated
