United's bid for Godin has been rejected by Atletico
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Doesn't he have a pretty low release clause ?

£18m apparently but the player would have to want to leave as well to activate it, he's always seemed pretty settled at Atletico

Apart from the WC'ers. Son is away in the Asia cup for at least 3 PL matches. Plus, if N Korea do not win the competition, there is a chance he will have to go straight into 1 years compulsory military service

Pretty sure he plays for the other Korea?

My mistake you are correct. The military service thing still applies

Don't a lot of countries that have national service let sports stars off with it if they are in a different country as they see it as feather in their cap to have a star overseas,or let them serve it when they retire or do something stupid like serve a couple days.

I'm not so sure playing for Spurs is classified as having a feather in your cap

Don't think we should be gossiping about his private life

It is understood United were encouraged to contact Atletico to see if there was any chance of a deal being done.

Behind the scenes, there was a suspicion they were being used as leverage by Godin's representatives to get a new deal from Atletico.

Those suspicions were confirmed once talks started.

Clearly, Godin is an outstanding player. But he was never going to end up at Old Trafford during this window
