The Wigan / Barnsley situation is weird, the 12 point deduction for Wigan means that Barnsley's last minute goal kept them up. But the points deduction is subject to appeal, while the Wigan situation seems harsh, how gutted would you be as a Barnsley fan if the deduction was overturned on appeal and they were relegated. It's a really ****ty situationThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yes but Derby could stil lbe relegated instead as their disciplinary goes to independent adjudication. Made a massive loss save for selling their ground to their owner for £65,000,000 or something similar.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostThe Wigan / Barnsley situation is weird, the 12 point deduction for Wigan means that Barnsley's last minute goal kept them up. If Wigan get relegated due to a points deduction for administration weeks after their owners passed a fit and proper person test it will be a crime against sport.Football without Origi is nothing

The whole situation is a complete cluster **** the football authorities cock it all up again. It should all be sorted out once and for all (appeals and everything) before the season is over, changing the outcome after all the games have been played isn't right.
The fit and proper test is bull****, as long as you aren't legally barred from running a company, aren't declared bankrupt and haven't been responsible for 2 football clubs going bust you pass it. That's a whole other issue.
Regardless of the fit and proper test is fair or not the handling of the punishment is a joke, as I say it needs to be sorted before the final game of the season or applied next season all the pissing about isn't fair to anyone. I'd missed the thing about Derby but read Sheffield Wednesday could also be facing a points deduction, if all these are being debated the 3 sides being relegated could be completely different to those we think are now

Yep agreed, will be super interesting to see what happens now to both Bournemouth and Howe. Essentially they have massively overachieved with Howe at the helm, and don't have the broad revenue base of other clubs in the Championship. Their stadium only holds 15K or so people, I thinkOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostIt'll be interesting to see what happens to Eddie Howe if Bournemouth go down, which is looking fairly likely. For the last few years he has been getting alot of credit for playing the right way and so on, being linked with most PL jobs going in that time, but his stock seems to have fallen a lot during the last year. Obviously he has done a great job with Bournemouth in the long term taking them from the lower leagues to the PL and keeping them there for a while. Will they give him a chance to bring them back, will they want a change or will he want to leave? I feel that Bournemouth could be one of those sides that slip out of the PL and could find themselves struggling in the Championship next year.
I reckon they might slide down the divisions, to be honest

I think that could easily be the case under normal circumstances, I think with coronavirus fall out and the way clubs are getting points deductions etc the championship could be a mess for a couple of years, the parachute payments might keep them out of that world.Originally posted by Sus View PostYep agreed, will be super interesting to see what happens now to both Bournemouth and Howe.
